- "24 Frames" release concerts – Oct. 8 (Montréal), Oct. 20 (Toronto)

The full 3 CD+1 DVD box-set of the "24 Frames" project is available as of this September on Ambiances magnétiques. Over 2 hours of new music for electric guitar, with great solo performance from Brady, a series of duos with members of the Bradyworks ensemble, and a special collaboration with video artist Martin Messier. Downbeat Magazine: "Brady's most ambitious project to date".

- X Avant Festival – Music Gallery – Oct. 18 – 20, 2011
Brady will be one of the two featured composers-in-residence (along with New York's Michael Gordon) at the X Avant Festival. He will give a lecture / demonstration on Oct. 18th (entitled: Six Strings, Five Lines), and on Oct. 20th he will give the Toronto premiere of his mammoth "20 Quarter Inch Jacks" (for 20 electric guitars), as well as excerpts from "24 Frames"

- Performances with Orchestras

Tim Brady with 20 guitarists in Thunder Bay, Ontario - Jan. 19, 2012 (TBSO performance)
Brady will perform 3 different works for electric guitar and orchestra with 4 different orchestras this season. He will perform his radical concerto "Amplify, Multiply, Remix and Redefine: in memory of Les Paul" (for 21 electric guitars and orchestra) with both the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestré métropolitain de Montréal. He will premier his new work "Short Stories/Courts métrages" (for electric guitar, electronics, video and orchestra) with the Orchestre symphonique de Laval (where he is in his 4th year as composer-in-residence), and he will premiere Andrew Staniland's new concerto "(Re)Evolution" with ECM+, in Montréal.

- Violin Concerto Premiere
Brady's new concerto for violin and string orchestra will receive its world permiere on April 5th, 2012, in a performance by violinist Robert Uchida and Symphony Nova Scotia, who have commissioned the work.

- RANT! – a collaboration with CBC TV's Rick Mercer
Brady has written a short new chamber piece based on a "rant" by CBC TV's Rick Mercer. Commissioned by percussionist Bev Johnston, the percussion and piano duo will be premiered in Toronto on Nov. 3, followed by a performance in Montreal on Nov. 9.

- Atacama: Symphony #3 – an ambitious Bradyworks and VivaVoce coproduction
June 12, 2012 will see the premiere of Brady's ambitious 50-minute choral work "Atacama: Symphony #3", for 11 musicians and 20 voices, performed by Bradyworks and the impressive VivaVice chamber choir, under the direction of Peter Schubert, in the concert hall of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. |
